Champions deserve a home! Support Houston’s Downtown Soccer Stadium
Homeforthedynamo.com is a website started and maintained by loyal and dedicated fans of the two time MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo soccer club.
Two years ago the city of Houston was fortunate enough to inherit this great team from San Jose. The same issue that forced the team to move from San Jose to Houston is rearing its ugly head again. That issue is a lack of support from local government for the construction of a Soccer Specific Stadium [SSS].
Going into their third season representing the fans of Houston and coming off a second consecutive league championship the team and the city of Houston entered into negotiations to get a stadium deal for our team — as of now the two sides are at odds over how much public funding will be used to finance this project. The debate has been carried into the public domain and caused much angst amongst the dedicated fans of this team. The issue has been discussed back and forth through the media and the voices of both the city and the team have been heard.
There is very little opportunity for the voice of the fan to be heard. Especially the ones who support the stadium issue.
Homeforthedynamo.com is that forum.

Several loyal and passionate fans of the team have gotten together to build this site in the hopes of doing more than just letting off steam or complaining. We are dedicated to supporting the fight for a stadium with our checkbooks. Money is the issue at hand and we have chosen to try and raise as much money as possible for this cause.
The purpose is to make it known to all who are involved that WE are going to act while THEY negotiate. No we dont think we will raise millions of dollars. That isn’t the point. DOING SOMETHING instead of just talking IS THE POINT. We will use the money we raise to get more and more publicity in hopes of showing more and more support–from bumper stickers to t-shirts, hopefully to the grand scope of billboards. If a stadium deal is announced, we will donate everything in the account to Dynamo Charities. We invite soccer fans everywhere to join us in this cause. A soccer stadium in downtown Houston is a must as we progress into this millennium.
The most popular sport on earth has found its wings in America and is taking off. As the years go by we look forward to hosting not only MLS games, and possibly an MLS Cup title game, but world class international matches as well. With a new and state of the art facility, these aspirations are not just dreams but CAN be a reality. So we invite everyone to investigate our site, study the issue and then make a contribution to the HomefortheDynamo Stadium Fund. Your help and support is needed and appreciated.
Thank You,
Homeforthedynamo.com Staff

my name is keith ingram.i was born and raised in Houston. It is my hometown.Although I havent lived there is years it is still home to me.I have and always will support the Houston professional sports teams.Soccer is my first love in sports and when the Dynamo moved to Houston it was like Chrismas to me.I have traveled hundreds of miles to see the Dynamo play on several occasions. For them not to have their own stadium that they control and manage is beyond belief to me.If any team ever deserved a quality place to play in front of their fans, this team in this town with these fans ,deserves it.I will contribute gladly to the cause.Call it a voluntary tax if you want. But I couldnt live with myself if we lost this team.So although my contribution is just a drop in the bucket compared to what is needed,I’m going to do what I can and hope that thousands more fans of soccer will do the same.Let’s show the people of Houston and the leaders of the city how much we love this team.

I moved 6 yrs ago to Houston. My missing link in happy life was a football team in Houston. When I say football, I mean the real sport, not that american egg ball game !
We have now a team. The only professional team in Houston, which won a championship the last 10 years. Amd not only once, back to - back !
Please support our team, donate money!
Thank you .

One word that should get everyone backing our Stadium is “Dallas.” I hate everything about Dallas and I can’t stand the thought of them having a Soccer Stadium and our great City of Houston doesn’t. The Dynamo Stadium will be a financial success because Soccer is a year round sport and international teams will want to play her. Lets get it built and show the world that we will remain the best city in Texas in soccer as in everything else.
ARRIBA EL DYNAMO !!

I’ve been playing soccer on and off my entire life, and I can’t think of a better sport for kids and adults alike. I hope the rest of the city of Houston soon realizes what a wonderful, *professional* sports team they have in the Dynamo! They need their own stadium…they DESERVE their own stadium. I’m all for it — Go, Orange!

I’m not from Houston and, unfortunately, there are no MLS teams anywhere close to me. But, I am a fan of the league. As a fan of the league, I hope that the defending champion Dynamo can help to build the credibility of the MLS worldwide by adding another SSS.
I know you guys can do it and I’m 100% with you.
Good luck!!!

Count me in as on board for a new home for the Dynamo. Soccer is a great sport and I think it important that Houston remain in the forefront when it comes to being a location not only for an MLS champion franchise, but also for other international matches that I think would be a good fit for a venue smaller than Reliant, but more new than Robertson.

Great site. Houston needs a soccer stadium, and more importantly, the Dynamo need a place they can call HOME. There’s no reason why the defending champions can’t get a proper HOME. They have our support, they need yours.
