Champions deserve a home! Support Houston’s Downtown Soccer Stadium

Houston, Texas is one of the best soccer cities in the United States and will get a soccer stadium. The city can either get it now or pay twice as much for it down the road. Passionate soccer fans are shaping the course of soccer history with their want and desire to be heard. From stadium issues to creating a fun and passionate environment at games. No one can underestimate the strength and passion of the soccer fan. With homeforthedynamo.com fans CAN be heard on the stadium issue and get involved in a direct and meaningful way. This collective effort, started and managed by fans, should make a statement in and of itself about the love affair this city has with their soccer team. I encourage all soccer fans to go to homeforthedynamo.com and get involved.

I got the petition thing and ya know what kinda ummm…pi$$es me about that?
1) as I have said before…when Uncle Drayton was pi$$ing and moaning about the Astrodome…and threatening to move the team to Virginia (yeah right…whatever Drayton!) they (County commissioners) couldn’t move fast enough to get a new baseball stadium built!
2) When Bud Adams took the Oilers to Tennessee (of course AFTER he had already scammed the city AND the county out of MILLIONS of $$$ for improvments to the dome) again….they (city and county) counldn’t build Reliant quick enough to get the NFL back here.
3) So now we have two new stadiums (which the taxpayers footed MOST of the cost on) and what happens? Well….now Les Alexander gets his panties in a wad because it’s not fair that football and baseball have new play places…so now he DEMANDS a new arena. So now we have the Toyota Center.
The Astros have NEVER been a World Seris Champion (only close one time)…the Rockets…..yes they have two championships but none since they moved to the Toyota Center or should I say since 1995? The Texans? Never mind. The Comets have MORE championships than the Astros, Rockets, and Texans combined.
Anyway…my point is…..in order for the Dynamo to get THEIR stadium..of which they are going to pay..what? 60% of the cost? If not more? And the city wants ALL the stipulations as to who else can use the stadium? Texas Southern? High school football? High school soccer? Not that I necessarily have a problem with any of that…but why aren’t the “other” professional sport teams required to share their stadiums the way the city and county is trying to make the Dynamo? (Yes…I DO understand the Toyota Center being used for other events but I don’t see high school b’ball…high school v’ball…etc…etc being played there).
Three years and TWO Championships later…and they STILL can’t get repsect???
