   A Stadium not only will further promote the surge of a WORLD WIDE sport like Soccer, but bring more healthy entertainment for our kids who already embrace Soccer as the first team sport in their young years. Add to that the international quality and activities that come with this to help catapult Houston to world class status. Makes tremendous economic and status sense for the city. The City needs this Stadium ASAP for more than just a couple of reasons so we urge the Mayor to go full blast ! How lucky are we that Houston now houses the MLS champions but don’t have a Stadium to play in? All new Stadiums in Houston for the last decade have proven successful. Go Mayor White !!

   I still remember those memorable Clutch City Rocket’s Championships in the 90’s like it was yesterday. I also enjoyed the Comets’ runs and championships… and the Aeros too…and what can I say about our 2004 & 2005 Astros seasons, with Mr. Clemens pitching in an 18-inning game for the ages…I attended all the home games during the 2005 playoffs…

   Now with our Houston Dynamo bringing all this superb community together as it is, I am under the belief that we must grant them a stadium deal…After all, the tax dollars spent in the infrastructure they’re asking for in the deal (from what I know of course) should be paid by the numerous events that this small sized but energized stadium will bring…Im sure AEG will upfront some of the money too…

   This will put us on the World Cup Map as well…we will be able to host so many events here in Houston that it would be unbelievable to not see the profits to our city and also the cultural aspect of this community.

   This is not a desperate cry for a stadium for the Back to Back MLS Champions, really. Yes, they’ve done their part, and yes there are still lots of people who do not believe in soccer as a major sport in this country…but I’ll tell you something, IT IS a big sport in a THIS city…and soon the rest of them will catch up, just like the 30+ fans who attend Robertson stadium with me on a regular basis for Dynamo Games….

   When I first came to this country 14 years ago, I brought with me the love for soccer, but soon realized that not lots of people shared my passion. I was made fun of for loving a sport which I had grown up respecting. Even my family and people who called themselves my friends…but this story has a different ending…

   Somehow all those people who once made fun of my sport, now love it. And it’s not just them, it’s their spouses, their kids, their in-laws, everyone, they make the road trips to Dallas for MLS Cups, they make trips to Austin, Tampa, etc.. for their kids tournaments…they paint their faces Orange when the Dynamo play…or Blue and White when the U.S. plays….this didn’t start with the Dynamo coming to Houston, it started years before…maybe with the World Cup coverage, I’m not sure…but all of it sudden I find myself surrounded by people who did not look at soccer as a real sport…and now play in amateur leagues at all levels…and I am talking about whole families…from the Grandparents to their grandchildren…

   It’s amazing to see this type of support here in Houston, this is where I was born but for family reasons I grew up in another country…but I can now say that I am home and that the sport I grew up with is now recognized and that we have a team who inspires people in the community. Our Dynamo deserve this and more…WE deserve this and more….PEOPLE WHO DON’T LIKE SOCCER DESERVE THIS AND MORE…they’ll learn to appreciate THE BEAUTIFUL GAME.

   THEY ALSO NEED A HOME….

   NARANJA POR SIEMPRE!!!
